Educational Programs
The Balzekas Museum works closely with Chicago area schools to provide educational enrichment opportunities for children and educators.
Learning To See, Learning to Do
The Museum offers extensive educational outreach to area schools, whose classes take field trips to the Museum to supplement lessons in history and culture with tours of the Museum's collection and hands-on activities.
After viewing the Lithuanian national costumes on display at the Balzekas Museum Women's Guild Room, 6th Grade students from the Lithuanian Saturday School in Chicago attempt to recreate traditional Lithuanian textile patterns in their art work.

Folk Arts Workshops
Every year, the Museum holds workshops in traditional Lithuanian folk arts, such as Easter Egg decorating, making threaded-straw Christmas ornaments, and mask making for Užgavėnės, Lithuanian Mardi Gras. These popular workshops attract individuals and families interested in learning and practicing age-old Lithuanian holiday traditions. Workshops are conducted by expert artisans, versed in traditional methods and designs. More . . .
